Kydex Knife Sheath

I had a benchmade knife but the leather sheath had worn out. I decided to learn how to form Kydex and make a horizontal sheath for the knife.

Forming the sheath

You can heat Kydex with a torch or a toaster oven, then sandwich it in a mould of foam and a postive form to make a sheath.

In this case, I had 1/16in black kydex that I heated and formed over the knife itself. Once cooled, I used an arbor press and rivets to hold it together.

Fitting the mount

I purchased a belt clip for it that was installed with chicago screws. Just dryfit the clip, mark places for holes, drill with a drillpress, and install.
